Hemorroids seem to occur as a result of pressure being put on the veins of the area. There are a variety of reasons why some people develop hemorrhoids (especially as they get older) and others don't. Genetics, environmental conditions, and lifestyle all are believed to play a part in the development of hemorrhoids.
